Hello -
I recently purchased a Boxcryptor license to provide a Windows-friendly means of accessing several remotely hosted EncFS volumes. These can be large, >50GB at times, and can be accessed remotely via any of a number of protocols. While on a Windows platform, I've been using SMB/CIFS to access the shares. Obviously this is not the standard DropBox <2GB usage model, but BoxCryptor 1.1.0.0 seemed to work just fine for my purposes.
After installing version 1.2.0.0 yesterday on a Win7-64 machine, some shares now can take over 90 minutes to appear as "Network Drives" under Windows after mounting them in BoxCryptor. The same behavior seems to occur when using the "fixed mount point" option. Perhaps this is some caching feature that was introduced in the 1.2 version (I can see the SMB daemon usage spike on the remote box during this time), but the net effect is that the product is unusable during that period. In addition, if network connectivity is cut during this period, the BoxCryptor executable crashes.
Perhaps there are new features or command-line switches that are (as yet) undocumented that can turn off this behavior. I have been unable to locate a user manual for the 1.2 version. Is there one?
Obviously the above is anecdotal, as I have only had the new version for about a day, however, I'm afraid that it isn't working here. Any suggestions?
Regards...
