Sync Symbol next to BoxCryptor folder looks like grey stop sign?

Hi All

I ran boxcryptor some time back and recently wished to try again. Upon installing the latest install the BoxCryptor folder appears in Dropbox fine along with the .encfs6 file however the file seems unable to sync and not avaliable for use on my iPhone. Any ideas as to why not?

You maybe have excluded your BoxCryptor folder or encfs6.xml file from syncing. Please check your Dropbox settings of your computer (selective synchronisation).

Had hoped you were onto something their but interestingly it does not appear in selective sync at all!!

this is very strange. You could try to make a backup of your data in your BoxCryptor drive on your harddrive and delete the complete BoxCryptor folder from your Dropbox folder. After that set up BoxCryptor again and fill it with your backed up data.

The only data within the BoxCryptor volume is the encfs6 file. I have yet to add anything as can't understand the symbol. I have removed application. Rebooted and reinstalled to no avail. On a different note, do you know if you can share a folder with someone via dropbox if you are both using boxcryptor and both be able to see the data?

another question: Have you already set up your BoxCryptor for iOS app? What exactly do you mean with "the file seems unable to sync and not avaliable for use on my iPhone"? Don't you just see the .encfs6.xml file? If so I can calm you it is just used for the BoxCryptor settings and is not displayed in the mobile apps or the BoxCryptor drive. Otherwise please report all error messages.

Sharing encrypted folders is possible with the Dropbox share function. To do this you have to share the complete encrypted folder including the .encfs6.xml file and have to pass your password to all users of your shared folder.
