Boxcryptor on Livedrive

I was using Boxcryptor to encrypt a folder on my Livedrive. This service is similar to dropbox, syncs files to your local harddrive but represents them on a separate drive that looks like a directly attached drive (default L:).

However since version 1.2 Boxcryptor doesn't recognize this drive anymore. It just doesn't show up when browsing through the folder structure to locate or create an encrypted folder. I also tried to directly enter the target location ("L:\encrypted") but without any luck.

The latest beta of Boxcryptor doesn't do any better.

Did anything change between 1.1 and 1.2 in how drives get accessed?
Any ideas that may help?

Hi Michael,

no, there were no changes how the drives get accessed. I just tried Livedrive with BoxCryptor and it worked without any problem.

Please make sure, that you run BoxCryptor with the same Windows user account as Livedrive. The Livedrive seems to be only visible for the user who started it. Other user accounts can not access the Livedrive. E.g. if you start BoxCryptor directly from its setup ("Run BoxCryptor now"), BoxCryptor is started with elevated rights and will not be able to access the Livedrive.

thanks for your help - it work's!

I guess the problem was starting Boxcryptor with elevated rights after setup. As i'm almost never rebooting the computer (when Boxcryptor would have started with "normal" rights) and have seen that behaviour on two computers i was almost sure that something in Boxcryptor must have changed ;-)
