The capacity reported for each mapped drive letter reflects that of the local folder, not that of the storage provider.

Is there any way to get the quota from the provider and reflect that properly in Windows Explorer? IOW, for a 5GB DropBox account with 200MB worth of files stored, the free space should reflect 4.8GB, not what is available on the C drive (C:\Users\HSimpson\DropBox)

That's how it should be. BC doesn't care what is outside your PC.

You can ask if you can let BC warn of quota limit defined by the user. Yeah that is better than having an outgoing connection "query" to get latest size after each upload and who knows when upload is done or if successful.

BC is just a tool to encrypt a folder in some location, currently it does that well and its enough for me.

Older BoxCryptor versions showed me the 2GB I have available in my free Dropbox account as the drive's size.
It was kind of confusing for me to see the same used/free space in the Windows Explorer after updating BoxCryptor a couple of days ago.
It would be nice to have an option where one can enter manually how big the available drive space (i.e. the cloud storage drive not the local space) is or let BoxCryptor decide:

Available storage space:
(o) [2048] MB
( ) BoxCryptor standard

BoxCryptor has always showed the free space on the harddisk because it is usable even if the cloud storage limit has been reached.

With the new BoxCryptor Free version the limit of BoxCryptor Free (2GB) has been removed so it now shows the harddisk space.
@ShinyMcShine this means the shown 2GB were the BoxCryptor limit not the Dropbox limit.

OK, I wasn't aware that the shown 2GB size was due to the limitation of BoxCryptor.
So it was basically a coincidence since the free Dropbox version also has a 2GB limit.

Anyhow, would it be hard to implement a customizable BoxCryptor drive capacity limit like in my previous post? I think it would make sense, since other cloud storage providers also have a set capacity limit.

If the user would be given control over this parameter, one would always see, how much space there is actually free in one's cloud storage!
