Multiple Folders Question

I am using the free version (1.3) of Boxcryptor but considering the unlimited version. After reading the manual I have a question about multiple folders.

If I add multiple folders it appears from the manual that each folder mounts as a separate drive letter. Is there an option for having each folder mount as a subfolder under the same drive letter? If not, I would like to suggest this for the next version. If I have 10 separate encrypted folders I would like to avoid having 10 mapped drives.

if 10 or more mapped drives is an issue for you and you are not using all of them at the same time. Then why not use 1 folder and mount with 10 different passwords, this would result in 1 folder all the time for the correct password.

check using multiple passwords or "secondary passwords".

I agree with awowwed, I think it's an interesting functionality.

For example, having only one mount drive, I would like to synchronize encrypted files to my Dropbox account AND to my GDrive account too.

Currently if I want to do this, I need to put my files in the twice mount drives manually.

Not sure if this is much use but just to confirm my setup, which may answer your question from the way I read it.

I have GDrive and a Boxcryptor Folder setup in Google Drive
The boxcryptor drive letter is... W

I Can simply access my Drive W by double clicking it.

In Drive W I currently have 35 folders, 19 subfolders and sub folders upon subfolders in there, and also 16GB of Files.

This means there is only ONE mount - W:\ with all the files, folders and subfolders in there.

You do not have to mount each seperate folder as a seperate drive letter. its all under drive w, just like a normal HDD

Is this what you mean, as if it is, yes it does, as this is my setup.

As a concrete example, suppose I had a Dropbox folder, a GDrive folder, and a SkyDrive folder. Instead of having them appear as

Dropbox -- X:\
SkyDrive -- Y:\
GDrive -- Z:\

I would prefer to have them show up as

X:\Dropbox
X:\SkyDrive
X:\GDrive

Ahh see what you mean

BoxCryptor creates its own drive, where you can read all the files in English

However you can read the encrypted filenames etc wherever you decide to store that info

Example being boxcryptor "in english" is drive W
however actually stored in f:\gdrive\boxcryptor (encrypted)

G drive is wherever you locate the folder. I do not use DropBox (I use box.net as I got 50gb free).

So for me...
I'll use boxcryptor - encrypt all filenames and files and store (where I like)

I'll use Goodsync. - upload to gdrive, Amazon S3 servers, WebDAV, Box.net, skydrive etc. sync multi files/folders, etc to seperate folder paths etc, exclude files, etc...

So I think you can achieve what you are trying to do. I guess it just depends on the limitations of sync (upload) software you are using - some sync software like to create virtual drives and some allow file / folder choice (better for me)

For me BoxCryptor is brilliant as it can decrypt filenames with its mobile app, with google drive now - which is a massive plus. And I can keep everything encrpyted.
