Boxcryptor 1.3.x starting windowed / release notes

Hi,

was just switching from 1.2.0.2 to the most recent version on XP SP3 in order to test.
Despite of all improvements the newer version takes much longer to load, might be due to dependency on .NET? , and more important always starts windowed, very annoying. Is there any option to quietly start to systray again ?
Also I'd prefer if you could include a simple release_notes.txt or similar in the installer package, this is quite common.

BoxCryptor 1.2.0.2 also used .NET so this should not be the problem. Furthermore BoxCryptor should not start windowed. So which window is opened? Could you make a screenshot?

In general you can find a changelog in our blog:

The current version 1.3.2 removed some restrictions in the free version.

Hi Boris,

tried to re-produce this in a VM.
1) Firstly, after clean install , means with no volume attached the wizard and when cancelling simple mode window appears. Would think this is intended.
2) Advanced mode, as I understand in contrast to simple mode , several volumes can be listed here. The observed behaviour occurs if you remove all volumes (i.e advanced mode is empty) so that on the next reboot you get Boxcryptor 'windowed'.
Basically I guess the program switches back to 'fresh install' behaviour, which I personally think it shouldn't. Can be that for the user it's temporary wanted that there are no volumes listed and only likes to see the systray icon.
conclusion : non-windowed start only happens if there's a volume known to the program

That's correct. We'll fix this that in Advanced Mode it won't show the program window even if there is no volume configured.

We'll also add a changelog.txt in future releases. Here's the changelog of v1.3.2:

* Modified: Restrictions in free version (e.g. no folder size limitation anymore)
* Modified: Upgraded to the latest CBFS version
* Fixed: BoxCryptor crashed when a file in the BoxCryptor Folder has been changed outside of BoxCryptor and path length was > 260 characters
