Cannot get BoxCryptor for OSX working with SkyDrive

I am on Mac OS 10.7.4 using SkyDrive and have been trying to get BoxCryptor up and running. I go through the steps to create a new BoxCryptor Folder and it gets created on my Skydrive. However, in the GUI it says No BoxCryptor Folder configured. Create or Open one. If I choose to open the one I created, I get the message This is not a valid BoxCryptor Folder. If the folder is being synchronized right now, please wait until the whole folder has been synchronized and try again. Waiting has not helped. When I look in /Volumes/BoxCryptor, it is empty (expecting to see .encfs6.xml?). There is no .encfs6.xml file in my Skydrive folder or the subfolder that I created as the BoxCryptor Folder. I have been through many uninstall, restarts and installs and I continue to get the same issue. Any ideas on how to get this to work?

Hi,

can you please post the outpout of executing these commands in Terminal (Applications -> Utilities)?

Assuming:
SkyDrive folder: ~/SkyDrive
BoxCryptor folder: ~/SkyDrive/BoxCryptor.bc

Command:
$ ls -la ~/SkyDrive
$ ls -la ~/SkyDrive/BoxCryptor.bc

PS: Could you also try to create a BoxCryptor Folder outside of SkyDrive, e.g. in any other regular folder? If this works, maybe you can move it then to your SkyDrive folder.

When creating a new box on my MacBook Pro there is NO ".encfs6.xml" inside this folder. This happens even on my local drive.

Then I created a Box on my windows machine. When I try to mount this on my mac I get this:
mount_osxfusefs: failed to mount /Volumes/BoxCryptor@/dev/osxfuse0: Operation not permitted

When I check with your given commands I get this:

OK, can you please try if the following helps:

1) If running, quit BoxCryptor
2) Manually delete /Volumes/BoxCryptor ($ rmdir /Volumes/BoxCryptor)
3) Start BoxCryptor and mount the Volume

doh! I guess I didn't reply fast enough to my question and saymen hijacked my question :-). Anyway, I am getting pretty much the same results as saymen. Nothing in the /Volumes/BoxCryptor directory. osxfuse0 not found and permission denied on encfs. I did not try to create from widows then mount from OSX.

One thing to note is that I am not getting the Congratulations dialog box after creating the encrypted folder that I see on the BoxCryptor Blog (second image in step 4) - http://blog.boxcryptor.com/how-to-use-boxcryptor-for-mac-os-x-with-dropb

Let us know what we can try next

cd /usr/local
sudo chown -R root:wheel bin
sudo chmod 755 bin

This got it working for me.

I saw the permissions were very wrong on the folder Robert was describing above.
