KeePass cannot sync to BoxCryptor mounted drive (save works) - v1.3.9.0

When I try to synchronize with a file in a BoxCryptor mounted drive (File > Synchronize) it always fails and then actually removes the file in the drive. Note that this does not affect normal saving - saving to the drive works fine, just sync does not.

Tested both on v1.3.2.0 and v1.3.9.0 (forum beta), filename encryption enabled. KeePass 2.19.

Error message:

"Synchronization failed. Die angegebene Datei konnte nicht verschlüsselt werden."

(i.e. unable to encrypt the selected file)

Any idea on how to work around that? Might be a problem on KeePass side, but should be possible to debug properly since it is opensource.

try this: in keepass | options | advanced

uncheck " use file transactions for writing databases "

Unfortunately I get the same error (also after KeePass restart, tried with v1.3.2.0 on Windows7). Since normal saving is working fine, it seems that sync does write to the file in a different way - maybe that setting does not have any effect on sync?

could you please post the debug file here or open a ticket in our support system and send us a debug file?

To create the debug file do the following:
1) Quit BoxCryptor
2) Type into the Windows startmenu "boxcryptor.exe /debug"
3) Reproduce the error
4) Quit BoxCryptor
5) The "BoxCryptor.log" is located on your desktop

Hi,

this thread may be quite old, but the described issue is still existing.

I'm using the latest vesions of BoxCryptor (2.37.1057) and KeePass (2.43).
When I use the synchronization feature of KeePass with a database that is encrypted with BoxCryptor, I always get the following error message:

`Synchronization failed.

Filename...

The process cannot access the file, because another process has locked a part of that file. `

After that the file in the BoxCryptor folder is broken (file size is 0 byte).

If I don't use a BoxCryptor encrypted file as synchronization target or if I directly save the file to the BoxCryptor folder (no synchronization), everything works fine. I also tried to deactivate transactions for file saving in KeePass. But that doen't help.

Are there any news on this issue? It seems that BoxCryptor has a problem with multiple read/write operations in a very short time.
