Ver 1.4 - SyncBack can't see unencrypted drive

I updated from v1.3.2 to v1.4 this morning. In File Manager I can see the unencrypted drive (U:), folders and files but they are not visible to SyncBack.

I have been using SyncBack to backup files onto U: for several months without problem. After doing a system restore to get back to v1.3.2, SyncBack works again.

Before doing the restore, I tried unmounting and mounting again, and rebooting my machine but that did not fix the problem.

Hi Mike,

Is SyncBack running under a different user account? Beginning from v1.4 the BoxCryptor Drive is only visible to the current user but not to other users. This increases the local security as other users on this computer can't access your BoxCryptor Drive anymore. See also the changelog:

* Modified: BoxCryptor Drives are now only available for the mounting user by default. They can be mounted for all users in the Advanced Options

But this behavior can be changed in the Advanced Options by enabling "Mount for all users". SyncBack should then work again as before. Note: You must be in Advanced Mode to modify the Advanced Options.

Hello Robert,

I only have one user account on this machine and I normally set up all new software "for this user only".

I'll try what you suggest but I'll be surprised if it makes any difference ... but I do like surprises :)

Even if you have only one user account, Windows has built-in users like e.g. guest or system. Sometimes software uses those built-in users or even creates their own users.

Grovel, grovel - you were quite right.

I reinstalled v1.4 and SyncBack could not see the U: drive. I used the dialog to make the U: drive visible to all users and hey presto - SyncBack could see it too.

Thank you very much for the help. I won't be so hasty in assuming a problem is a bug in future.
