Hello,
in some other posts in this forums I read that BoxCryptor is not intended to be run as a Windows Service. In my view, being able to run BoxCryptor as a Windows service is absolutely essential.
Many of us are using Windows based PCs as a home media hub, and secure offsite backup to a cloud storage is important to me, and I'm sure also to others. To support such use case, it is mandatory to have BoxCryptor running at any time, ie. also when not logged on.
There are some threads about creating a Boxcryptor service using srvany.exe, and while I have successfully created many other services with this method, it doesn't work with Boxcryptor: The process is acutally running, but no drives are created. The log shows one exception and no further details (let me know if you want to have the log).
In my view, a paying user cannot be expected to fiddle around for hours to find some workaround for this obvious use case. Modifying BoxCryptor so that it can be run as a service is trival in C++/C#/ etc., or whatever language your are using. I really don't see why I couldn't be done easily at your end.
Please share your comments and when such feature can be made available.
Kind regards,
jayrock
