I'm installing almost every new version of Boxcryptor published. When upgrading Boxcryptor
on restart _sometimes_ tends to 'forget' settings like mount paths etc.
It's quite interesting how the program generally stores the user.config, i.e in
c:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Secomba_GmbH\ I (in my case) find three directories with a random/GUID/hash part in the string :
a)BoxCryptor.exe_Url_m2bmoumszvtcpodowd1pzfb4cpcaj10p\
b)BoxCryptor.exe_Url_ohsrptvwwzg5bumjkjncnxowj5pe3vk4\
c)BoxCryptor.exe_Url_qo0ro4rar52oof05qb53wpbsu4wkfwes\
Each of it has subfolders named by several versions containing an (old) user.config.
For instance a) contains :
1.3.2.0\
1.4.0.0\
1.4.403.2187\
1.4.404.2309\
1.5.401.126\
1.5.402.128\
1.5.403.131\
1.5.404.135\
1.5.405.136\
1.5.406.139\
1.5.407.140\
1.5.408.142\
however 1.5.409.147\ went to b), with the effect that settings were not taken over.
Solution : I manually copied the user.config from 1.5.408.142 to that location - so far so good.
Question is however why sometimes new BoxCryptor.exe_Url_* folders are created and in particular the user.config is not stored independently of the version (compatibility ?).
Also, are obsolete BoxCryptor.exe_Url_' folders safe to delete ?
