BC doesn't start under Win 8 64bit

Hi,
i used BC the last month under Win7 32bit and i was happy with it. Now i have upgraded to win8 64bit and installed the newest versin 1.5.409.147. After the restart nothing happened. Also after klicking on the desktop-symbol or the exe in the folder. In the taskmanager boxcryptor disappear immediately after showing.
Am I doing something wrong? What can i do?

Sorry, creating a debug file doesn't work. It is the same as the last time. While starting in debug mode boxcryptor disappear immediately after showing in the task-manager and there is no debug file. I searched the whole Computer for "BoxCryptor". Found a lot of "AppCrash_BoxCryptor.exe_..........." but no debug file. I deinstalled and reinstalled BC several times now but no changes. It seems to me that the bug is happened to early.
What else can i do.

Hi,

same problem here. Upgraded to the newest version 1.5.409.147 and nothing happens. I also use Win8 64bit (german). Older versions of Boxcryptor running fine. There is also no debug-file.

Hi also having the same problem, .147 version crashes on startup. The .139 version works without problems.
From the applog it states that the problem might be with kernelbase.dll

Thanks for the reports. It's actually not a "bug" in BoxCryptor but rather seems to be a problem with the .NET configuration. This new build should solve the problem and it would be great if you could try it:

I can confirm that the new version fixes the crashing on startup.
Also I can now use OneNote on a BoxCryptor drive without the notebooks going corrupt.
