Hi Guys,
I have Boxcryptor installed on two pc's which is synced via dropbox. I've got them configured exactly the same way (passwords, drives letters etc), however one of them works fine with regards to opening any files, but the other one doesn't open/decrypt *some* of the files. I open both from the boxcryptor drive rather than directly from the folder on the computer and both run Windows 7. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling boxcryptor on the problem pc, but still seem to have the same issue. I can upload a debug log if needed.
Thanks
Terry
Hello Terry,
did you connect second computer to the exsiting folder or did you just created a new boxcryptor drive/folder combination with the same password? Tha latter will cause trouble, since the key used for encryption is a different one.
Best regards, David
Hi Terry. I encountered the same problem. I'm not sure I've correctly got round it but it seems to work: Open boxcryptor preferences (right click on task bar icon) then select your boxcryptor drive. right click it and select edit. You then go through the same steps you went through on first set up. I tried selecting 'Mount for all users' (Note 'automount this drive' and 'enable key validation' are also ticked) and it seems to now work. Maybe someone in admin can confirm this is a correct way of making it work?
Cheers, Joel
Thanks for the replies and sorry about the delay in getting back to you.
David, yeah, the second computer connects to the same folder in Dropbox. Joel, I gave this a go but no luck for me unfortunately.
Figured it out, it's working now. Thanks for your help.
