3 Reasons not to use BoxCryptor

Today I just tested Boxcryptor with Dropbox.

I found few of the reasons , why I should NOT USE BOXCRYPTOR. I am mailing you this to know whether I am wrong or right. Whether I am using BC correctly or not.

BC encrypts file on my PC also.
1. I cannot open my files, if I am logged off from BC and I don't have internet connection. Because it encrypts files on hard disk also.
2. I am heart patient. If in the morning I didn't wake up, my family have no access to this files.
3. If i forgot my passwrd, then there is no way to access files. I will completely lost it. If BC does not encrypt my local files on my PC, then atleast I have access to my files. But it fails here.

I checked SpiderOak also.
They have good options, they encrypts file on server. On my PC i have open decrypted files. I can access it even if I don't have internet connection. I can access it even if i lost passwrd.

The fact that files encrypted with Boxcryptor are always physically encrypted (even on your PC) is a feature why many users are using Boxcryptor.

1) You only need an internet connection for the first time you log in on a computer. Subsequent logins do not require an internet connection and Boxcryptor works very well without any internet connection.
2) You can write down your email and password and put it in a secure place where your family can access them.
3) This strong security is actually a feature of Boxcryptor. Good password management is essential for using most encryption products.

I hope I could answer some of your questions. Whether Boxcryptor is the right product for you depends on your (security) requirements.
