• Windows 8.1 Desktop folder within boxcryptor drive

I've set my Desktop to a folder within my boxcryptor drive - X:\Dropbox
I'm using Win 8.1 and changed this by editing the registry - HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > User Shell Folders

I've been using this setup with bc 1.x before. As expected there is an error msg, because x: is not available before bc has started. This is expected and understandable.
My problem with bc 2.x is however that even after bc is finished loading and the folders and files show up, folders are not opened when i click on them. This only works after restarting explorer. I could script this to happen whenever I logon, so this isn't a critical issue either.

The behaviour i cannot work around is that explorer crashes whenever I try to create a new folder on the desktop.

I think this can be considered a bug, because bc is integrated into explorer and showing a folder as the desktop is an explorer feature just like any other.

Best regards,
Tim

    Hey,
I'm starting to really like your forums - already found a fix: "dontConfirmPlaintextOperation": true' will keep the bc dialog box to from appearing and explorer from crashing. It's not perfect for those who would like to have the same setup and also be asked every time whether to encrypt or not, but it's fine for me.
All that's missing for me now is a way to get all the files and folders created on my desktop to be encrypted by default, which is not possible now because i cannot set x:/dropbox to encrypted, only subfolders (and i don't want my desktop to be within a subfolder).

    best,
    Tim
