Hi,
I have a Windows 8.1 machine that uses the Boxcryptor desktop application to create the X: and it will encrypt a folder under my Skydrive directory. I've added files to a subfolder and they get encrypted properly into *.bc files. The directory has a folderkey.bch file in it.
I have another windows 8.1 machine that I tested the Boxcryptor app from the Windows Store. This app asks me to select a folder under my skydrive account to encrypt. I want to use the same subfolder that I encrypted using the desktop application on the first machine. This doesn't seem possible. How can I view my encrypted content that I encrypted on the first machine from the Boxcryptor Metro app on the second machine?
As a test, I created a new folder for the Boxcryptor metro app to encrypt. It creates a folder with keyfile.bcx in it. If I upload files to that folder using the app, it will encrypt the file. Interesting that it's not in he *.bc format. It's just encrypting the contents of the file without adding the BC metadata (probably why it's not a *.bc file). This seems to suggest that the metro app is doing encryption in a totally different way than the desktop application.
Is this expected?
Thanks,
LT
