BC Classic problem on Mac OSX

I have used BC Classic on my Mac OSX box for quite some time, configured to sync the Boxcryptor folder within my Dropbox folder. I just added a Google Drive account to this box. I mistakenly used the Simple interface of BC Mac and told it to create a new BC folder in my Google Drive folder. I thought that would give me 2 BC folders (adding one to my Google Drive folder, plus the one already in my Dropbox folder. Well, that actually disabled the one in my Dropbox folder and I can't figure out how to get access to that folder back. I assume I need to use the Advanced interface of BC to do this but just can't figure out what to do.

Also, when I exit BC Classic and then restart it, it sees no BC Classic folders. When I have it look at my Dropbox folder, it sees no BC Class folder there, even though it's still there, intact. I haven't touched that folder for a day or so, and no hidden files there have recent timestamps.

If I restore com.boxcryptor.mac.BoxCryptor.plist from a good backup that was created before I did all this, will that solve this problem?

Hello ralvy,

In simple mode, only one BC Classic folder can be used at the same time. In order to use 2 or more BC Classic folders at the same time, you need to switch to the advanced mode.

Opening an existing BC Classic folder should be as easy as clicking on "Open" in the toolbar of the BC Classic preferences. BC Classic then tries to auto-detect your existing BC Classic folders (they need to have the ".bc" extension for this). If auto-detection does not work, you can always manually choose the location of your BC Classic folder:

1) Click on "Open" in the toolbar
2) Choose "Custom" for "Location or Folder"
3) Select your BC Classic folder and click "Open"
4) Done

If you want, you can also restore the Boxcryptor preferences of a previous point in time from a preferences plist file:

a) Quit BC Classic if it is running
b) Open Terminal
c) Execute: "defaults import com.boxcryptor.mac.BoxCryptor /PATH/TO/com.boxcryptor.mac.BoxCryptor.plist"
d) Start BC Classic again
