First 36 hours - hanging twice

I just did register and pay for the "Boxcryptor Unlimited Personal 1-Year". Installed BoxCryptor on a 32bit QuadCore Windows 8.1 4GB/300GB machine, did restart as suggested and copied the first 300 files (32MB) into the BoxCryptor drive after reboot. After 9 files Windows hangs. BoxCryptor uses 75% CPU constantly without any further activity.

Next morning, office, this time a 64bit QuadCore Windows 8.1 8GB/1TB machine. Again a fresh install of BoxCryptor. This time another folder - around 20 files several KB --> Windows hangs.

This time I couldn't end BoxCrpytor with the TaskManager. Even shutdown of the PC didn't work. Had to hard reset with the button. This office PC is 1 year old. It was the first time that I had to force shutdown this machine.

Hey, what's that? Both machines are running all day long without any problems. All fixpacks are installed, no fancy games, just office work. Is BoxCryptor Windows 8.1 compatible? Did I miss something?

Did I waste my money?

Yes, Boxcryptor is Windows 8.1 compatible and this is definitely unusual behavior. I'm sorry for that but I can ensure you, that we will refund your purchase if Boxcryptor does not work as expected for you. A short mail to support@boxcryptor.com is enough.

But if you're willing, we could try to investigate why this happens for you. If this behavior is reproducable, a first step would be to create a debug log which gives us more insight into what's happening within the software:

1) Exit Boxcryptor if it is running
2) Excute the shortcut "Boxcryptor (Debug)" located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Boxcryptor"
3) Reproduce the problem
4) Exit Boxcryptor
5) Please send us the file Boxcryptor.svclog which has been created on your desktop to support@boxcryptor.com (as it can grow pretty large I'd recommend to zip it).

My LAN is a mixed environment of Windows, Linux Slackware, Linux Debian and 3 different types and 4 different versions of Android Devices. This alone gives trouble enough for the usual Cloud Sync app.

I always start with the Windows environment to install and work with a new tool - because here I don't expect any problems. If they pop up here I usually don't go any further ...

The Windows PCs are 08/15 standard HP PCs with Windows 8.1 (one HTPC with just a handful of applications and one Office PC with lots of development tools, etc.). If I do experience such a bad start during my first steps on both machines, I will not go any further - it won't become better I fear.

Thanks for your refund offer - I will go that way. I did delete BoxCryptor from both machines already.
