Recreate config backup files

Hi there, is there an easy way to recreate the backup config files you are prompted to do it during the creation of the encrypted folder? Or do I have to recreate encrypted folders from scratch?

Hi,

You can create your own backup from an existing encrypted folder by simply copying the ".encfs6.xml" in the root of your encrypted folder to another location.

E.g. Dropbox\Super Secret.bc\.encfs6.xml

Hello,

I have 10 Boxcryptor folders, linked to the counterpart folders in Dropbox. Please tell me if there is a backup XML file for EACH of these 10 folders or a single XML which applies to any folder created? I use Boxcryptor Classic v1.6.400.0

I have never faced any problems with the installation and it has worked flawlessly since I first started using it, perhaps 2 years ago,.

Hello Bantax,

Every Boxcryptor Classic folder has its own .encfs6.xml configuration file which is always located in the root of the Boxcryptor Classic folder (see example above) and it is recommended that you create a backup of every .encfs6.xml file - just in case something happens to the original one.
