Boxcryptor Classic (1.6.405.102) crashing often, possibly under high loads?

I'm using the latest version of Boxcryptor Classic (1.6.405.102), and it is crashing often.

After a few weeks, I noticed that it's crashing whenever McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.7 does a weekly full scan. I can restart Boxcryptor fine without any problems, so it's not a matter important files getting incorrectly quarantined or deleted.

This didn't happen with the previous version of Boxcryptor Classic, everything including McAfee configured identically.

I've had many issues with Boxcryptor Classic 1.6.405.102 and have since reverted to 1.6.401.81 until the file access sharing violation errors when opening or saving are resolved. Apparently a solution is being worked on but not yet released.

Is there any more recent info on this? Are there any vulnerabilities in 1.6.401.81 to be concerned about?

Just found there is a release candidate 1.7.401.x to resolve the issue
