Error: "A device attached to the system is not working"

I'm using BoxCryptor with a local account on a folder synced through ownCloud. Being a "good citizen" I made a backup of my key file.

Yesterday I needed to reinstall ownCloud so I made a backup of my entire ownCloud folder, reinstalled the server, put the backup back onto the server and reconfigured everything. OwnCloud is running as it should again.

But when I tried to access my encrypted folder through boxCryptor, I got an error saying "A device attached to the system is not working". I can still see the encrypted files and open the encrypted folders in the owncloud folder, but not through boxCryptor anymore.

What's going wrong here?

Server: ownCloud, client: ownCloud for Windows 1.6.0
Client: Windows 8, client: boxCryptor 2.0.417.367
