Renewal of 1-year: question

Hello,

I am a happy user of Boxcryptor personal. I got an email stating I need to renew my billing information.

In days of money scam I find it hard to just following those links and provide credit card numbers. I would really prefer to have an in-app link that leads me to it, or something like that.

Do you follow me, or understand my concern. I rather risk my account than follow a link from a mail like that. I mean, it points to another company than yours, which by all means is no secret (reading that mail). However, You should really consider a more legit way of the renewal process, AFAIC.

Can you provide me with some info that proves that the mail is authentic and serious?

Regarding your email: This email was very likely sent by our payment provider Share-It / Digital River which handles all our payments and automatic renewals of subscriptions - and which is officially your contractual partner for your Boxcryptor subscription. I understand your concerns and we'll try to improve this process when the billing information needs to be updated.

Thanks. Then I have another suggestion. It is not obvious where the official support channel is. I tried and failed, perhaps I am the one to blame but I did try to find a suitable place to ask my question.

In times where scams from email are so common, I think both you and your customers will benefit from reliable and good information regarding billing and other sensetive information. I got this mail, and it really did not convince me it was legit. Because of this, I did not dare to provide billing info, and you lost a customer in the process.

However, I am not pissed or anything. I simply did not got enough confidence in renewing the subscription in time before it was due.
