Best practice password loss

Hi there

I am using Boxcryptor with a friend who recently lost his password. As far as I know he will lose access to all our data if he restores his password.

What is the best practice in order for him to regain password? Shall I delete him from the permissions and re-add him again?

Hello Tolino,

The best way is:

1) Remove his permissions from all encrypted files
2) Your friend should perform an account reset: https://www.boxcryptor.com/app/passwordforgot
3) Your friend should login to Boxcryptor using our client software so that he receives new keys
4) Re-add him to your encrypted files
