• Android Local Storage

I am using 2.0 on Android and trying to use the local storage options. When I just select "local storage" it only allows me to select the root directory i.e. /storage /sdcard0 but not any folders in that directory. Why is this as I would like to select a folder? If I try "local storage advanced" it flat out does not work and gives an error every time- "error: could not complete authentication". I thought I read somewhere that boxcryptor 2.0 cannot use the ext SD card, but either way (phone storage or SD card) I get the same error. I'm sure my syntax is correct as I'm just typing in what the file explorer says the path is... /storage /sdcard0 /work files. Any help on this would be really appreciated.

Using 2.0 on my Nexus 7 (with KitKat). I do not see an option to view local files (on the Nexus) that were encrypted on my PC and transferred by Google Sync. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi everybody

the local storage always uses the default "external" storage root path of the Android system. This is mostly the storage which comes with the device (not a SD card!). Here you should be able to access all folders and subfolders also with Android 4.4. If you want direct access to a specific folder you can use local storage advanced and enter the path to this folder e.g. (/storage/sdcard0/Downloads).

        Boris,

Thanks for the reply - but does not answer my problem. I guess my question was poorly worded.

I know where my encrypted files are on my Nexus (they are selected files from Google Sync). I just do not know how to access them from within your app. I cannot find a local storage option - or is this only available in the paid version?

          Hi

you can select the the "local storage" or "local storage advanced" in the add provider screen. You can access this screen by swiping from the left border of your screen to right. This will open a sidebar in which you can select "add provider".

          Best regards

            Boris,

Thank you for the quick reply. I see now that the problem is that I am using the free version which does not allow local storage and Google Drive at the same time. Still a great program though.
