Downloading the encrypted file while using the browser extension.

Hi!

I'm using OneDrive and Dropbox with Boxcryptor 2, and using the encrypt file name option. To view the files on the web, I use the Chrome Extension so that it shows me what the real filenames are. The "problem" I'm having is that when I try to download an encrypted file, it offloads it first to the boxcryptor extension, which I noticed to be really slow than just downloading the file straight off OneDrive or Dropbox.

Is it possible to do that? Just download the file directly? I don't need boxcryptor to decrypt it on the fly, as I can just decrypt that locally, or save it to a folder that's being read by Boxcryptor.

The use case for this, is if you want to offload files to the cloud. I don't need a copy of my files on my computer. But when I need to, I can grab them from the web interface and download just what I need (because the cloud storage providers only provide folder level syncing, not file-level).

unfortunately, there is no easy way to download the files in their encrypted format. The only workaround I can suggest is to remember the filesize and/or the date of the file in the list view when the filenames are decrypted. Then you can log out, identify the file with help of its properties and download it without the plugin.

Ah... this does work for me. Just made another browser profile with the plugin and I can browse side by side using the date and sizes. Thank you for the suggestion!
