Feature Request: Scheduled Backup in Mobile App

I formerly used FolderSync Pro to schedule regular backups of selected content from my mobile devices to Dropbox. The destination folder on Dropbox was excluded from syncing to my laptop/desktop so that the backup only existed in the cloud (primarily for space saving on the desktop).

Now that I use Boxcryptor and have encrypted the destination backup folders this is no longer possible. To workaround this I have reverted to enabling desktop sync for the destination backup folder and then use Bittorrent Sync to sync content from my phone and tablet to my desktop so that it is then encrypted and synced to Dropbox.

A perfect solution would be for the the Boxcryptor Android App (and other mobile apps) to include a scheduler so that I can create several backup (upload) profiles to upload content from my phone and tablet to encrypted folders via the Boxcrypter app.

I'd imagine that such an app would, at a base level, allow:

- selection of simple time triggers
- selection of which cloud service to use
- source file/folder/sub-folder selection
- destination folder selection
- overwrite or skip existing options
- ability to preselect 'encrypt these files' or 'do not encrypt these files' i.e. if the destination folder is not encrypted

Do you think this

a) is this something other users would be interested in / benefit from?
b) is something the Boxcryptor team think would be feasible to implement?

thank you for your feedback and for sharing your ideas with us! Indeed your idea sounds pretty promising. As you already said there are other apps which offer these features but without encryption. So I think this is a good idea and I will put it on our roadmap. Unfortunately we have limit development resources so this can take some time until we really can implement this feature. Because no other user has yet requested such feature we first have to set it to a lower priority as there are still many other things to include and improve.

PS: Meanwhile you can also contact the developers of FolderSync Pro or other syncing tools and ask them to integrate the Boxcryptor for Android Encryption Interface. With this feature it is possible for other developers to use the Boxcryptor encryption technology within their Android apps. For clarification: The Boxcryptor for Android Encryption Interface does only work with the Boxcryptor 2.0 technology which does not work with EncFS. So here you can use your Boxcryptor 2.0 account to encrypt files like you would do in the Boxcryptor for Android app. Other developers can contact the Boxcryptor for Android app to do this encryption using the interface. So maybe you can request another feature on the FolderSync site. As a user your voice counts more than ours ;)
