Windows 8.1 > Search Indexing Bug: BoxCryptor Drive can not be added

Hi,
maybe someone of the users has allready found a workarround how to fix this issue:
I m using Windows 8.1. and BoxCryptor Version 2.1.405.86.
I can not add the Boxcryptor Drive in the Windows Indexing Options.
I already configured the BC-Settings (Mount for all users, Windows Mount Manager etc.).

The possibility to index the Boxcryptor Drive in Windows 8.1 is really important for me, so it would be great if someone has ideas how to fix / solve this issue?

Meanwhile I talked via Support-Tickets about this issue:
The Problem is that in Windows 8.1. there is at the moment no chance to do the following step:
"Fügen Sie nun Boxcryptor zum Index hinzu."
because the Boxcryptor-Drive is not visible in this pop-up-window (indexing settings).
So I m going to wait until Microsoft has fixed this issue with virtual drives & indexing or Boxcryptor has found another solution / workarround to get the BC-Drive indexed in Windows 8.1.

I have this problem too. With Boxcryptor 2.0 the search in Windows 8.1 works, but with Boxcrytor 2.1 it won't work. Because of that, I think the Boxcryptor team have to fix that issue.

Are there any news with regard to the current Windows 8.1. - Boxcryptor Indexing Bug / Problem? It's really hard to give up the "windows search with indexing feature on the virtual boxcryptor drive" - even if it is just temporarily.

Yes, please fix this. Because of this bug the windows search is freezing many times even if I don't search files on the Boxcryptor drive.

Hi everyone,

unfortunately a fix is not possible at times.
This is due to technical issues and confusion at Microsoft support.
One tells us it's a bug in Windows the other tells us it's a feature.

Thus without Microsoft fixing their issue, we are not able to fix this, now.

Anyway, we don't give up yet!
There will be new possibilities coming with the new Boxcryptor versions.
Unfortunately I don't have any more information on these at times.

just want to tell you, that this problem is solved for me (at the moment)!

I did not changed anything with regard to the files. Only thing I did was of course update boxcryptor regulary and update windows. So maybe that fixed this "bug".
Anyway, it was working with windows 8.1. the whole last year for me. then suddenly I could not add the boxcryptor drive in the windows indexing options any more. This weekend I tried I realized that it is now possible again.

Finally I can add the decrypted boxcryptor-files to the windows-search-index again.

If I can provide some more information, which might help the boxcryptor-support - please let me know. Probably Microsoft fixed that issue during one of the last windows updates :-)

thank you for your notice - I've just verified it, the Boxcryptor drive can indeed be indexed again! Seems like Microsoft finally decided that this was a bug and fixed it :-)
