Hi all,
I am currently using BoxCryptor classic with Dropbox.
I have an area of my Dropbox storage encrypted with a basic password as the encryption key which I keep in a safe location. To the best of my knowledge, there is no other way into my BoxCryptor documents if I was to forget the key. No social engineering or "reset password" techniques which could be used to gain access to my encrypted documents.
I have read the messages on the BoxCryptor classic pages stating that development work has stopped, and that the software may not work with future versions of operating systems.
I am looking at BoxCryptor 2.0 but have heard mixed messages and I still do not understand how it works.
Am I able to achieve the same setup as above where my memorised encryption key is the ONLY way to view my encrypted BoxCryptor files if I use Version 2.0? Eg. No account based systems where my encryption key is held "somewhere"?
Please note I am not interested in sharing files with anyone so I am happy to forgo this feature if required. I am also happy to pay for the registered version if I am able to achieve this.
Thanks for your help.
