I'll do my best to explain the problem and appreciate any and all support...
I installed an ownCloud server from scratch on my LAN. I can connect no problem from a browser or the desktop app. I can connect from safari on my phone and iPad with no problem.
Let me digress, I have a EncFS folder on my cloud drive that requires a password to unlock and was initially created with boxcryptor classic years ago (iOS 5 days). During that time I have moved this folder from DropBox to SkyDrive to Copy because of size and privacy concerns. Thus my end result of building an ownCloud server and trying to decrypt and access the files on my mobile device. I never needed a login before for boxcryptor but created a new account and firstly tried to access my EncFS folder locally using the portable version on Linux and Windows.
Problem #1: It never prompts me for the password to decrypt my folder using the desktop app.
Problem #2: Cannot add WebDAV location (local LAN) to mobile app. Gives some error "Https 500" Will have exact error when I get home later tonight and try it again.
Now, It took a long while to get to the point where BoxCryptor would actually allow me to add the WebDAV URL in the first place. "https://server.domain.com/remote.php/webdav/"
Here's what I have done so far:
- Changed DNS IP's on DHCP lease from 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220 to 192.168.0.1, 208.67.222.222
- Added self-signed certificate from ownCloud server to profile on iPhone (huge pain in the keister)
My end goal is to access my ownCloud server from anywhere on any device and be able to decrypt the EncFS folder (created by boxcryptor classic) on any OS or device. First, I'd like to get it to work on my LAN before I start hardening and forward ports.
Is this even possible anymore? I could do it years ago, why not now?
