Opening encrypted files on iOs

Hello,

I've installed the Boxcryptor iOs app and am able to preview encrypted files on my device. I am unable, however, to edit these files in the respective apps. For example, I cannot edit an Excel spreadsheet in the the Excel app or a Word document in the Word app. The apps want me to "sign in" to Microsoft's Office 365 service. I am able to open and edit unencrypted Dropbox files in these apps, presumably because the Excel and Word apps are connected to Dropbox.

Is it possible to connect Boxcryptor to these apps so I can edit the Excel and Word documents?

Perhaps a better question: how do I edit encrypted Word and Excel files on the iOs?

I'm sorry if this question is basic: I've explored all over the web trying to locate an answer.

The same question I wanted to ask too. It seems to be impossible in Excel or other Office-Applications on ios to reencrypt documents which were edited in ios. Every hint would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi you two,

unfortunately Microsoft Office for iOS doesn't provide the "Open with.. (Boxcryptor)" option.
Thus it's not possible to send the edited file directly to Boxcryptor.

Some of our users though of a bumpy workaround.
This would be:
1. Download the file with Boxcryptor
2. Open this file with MS Office app
3. Send the edited file to another suitable app
4. Forward the file again to Boxcryptor

Our developers are aware of this weakness but we are not really able to do something about it.
Anyway, we will watch this issue.
