Boxcryptor 2.1 issue with Windows 10

Hi,

Just upgraded to Win10 this morning and I cannot use Boxcryptor with dropbox anymore. Boxcryptor isntalls perfectly, and mounts the drive (X: in my case) but when I try to access any encrypted folder, I get:

'A device attached to the system is not functioning'

I uninstalled Boxcryptor, reinstalled it with the same outcome.

Is that a known bug and should I want for an update, or is it an isolated issue I'm having?

Got the exact same problem - even with the latest (supposedly Win10 compatible) version 2.2.203.186. Hope they fix it soon.

I can't read or decrypt files with Boxcryptor after upgrading to Windows 10 Pro. Tried reinstall, including the Win10-beta client. When will this be fixed??

Tip: I managed to access my encrypted files for now by using the Boxcryptor Portable version

Hi,

having the same problem since I updated to Windows 10 on 1 machine of 3.
Interesting think: the machine that's causing the issue is a tablet and was updated with an in-place-upgrade to Windows 10. Perhaps this kind of upgrade play a role. I work with version 2.1.417.123.
My other machine were installed from scratch.

So also waiting for a solution.

by the way: on the problem machine I'm using Boxcryptor for Chrome as a temporary workaround. Next I'll try out the beta.

Same here. After update to Windows 10 and beta version of Boxcryptor my files are unavailable.

I have issues with the 2.2.207.189 Version and with Windows 10 X64 Preofessional. After i install the software, it doesn't start correctly. I cant use this software. Can someone please try it with X64 Version of Windows 10 ?

No thumbnails displayed since upgrade to Windows 10 in boxcryptor drive. Thumbs display properly in non boxcryptor drives. Deleted thumbs with Windows Cleaner but that didn't help. Made sure folder settings were correct. Installed 3rd party file manager that didn't work.

Does anyone think decryption then encrypting again will solve? I see this was a problem with Boxcryptor when Win 8 first came out, and Boxcryptor patched it. Will they fix it this time also? Thanks!!

Same problem here with the thumbnails. And other connected problems: All "Metro" apps have no access to the files, so I can't open PDFs with Edge and no Photos with the Photo app. I tried it with Boxcryptor 2 and with Classic.

If I choose to open eg. jpg with the old Windows Viewer, at least they show up. But no thumbnails either.

De- and encrypting would not solve the problem, I think: I just installed Boxcryptor 2 from scratch and put in fresh files (without filename encryption). Same problem as with old encrypted files in Boxcryptor Classic.

I am having to same problem. I just upgraded to Windows 10 and I am getting the same message, "A device attached to the system is not functioning" I just upgraded from Boxcryptor Classic and it was actually working well with Windows 10 - my new upgrade, not so much.

Can anyone tell me when the newest version will be out of beta? It sounds like some people have had luck with the beta version and others not. This is very frustrating as I had a recent message saying "Boxcryptor - Windows 10 ready" Not quite yet.

A have the latest version installed (v2.2.423.322) in Windows 10 and Boxcryptor is not loading. The process appears in the process list, but the logon screen does not appear anymore. I was using Boxcryptor with Windows 10, but after the last Windows 10 update, it doesn't work anymore. Thanks, Igor.

Hi Igor,

Please try to completely uninstall your previous version and then install the latest version from our website. Let us know if that doesn't help.
