I want to love Boxcryptor, but the truth is it is hard. Here are some of the vary irritating things it does. I would like to see fixes for these.
The latest is that when I move some files to my desktop Boxcryptor left some of the files encrypted. How do I know they were encrypted? Well, besides the file names staying green, the native program (SolidWorks) would not open them. All the non-green un-encrypted files it would open, but not these. This is a major bug!!!
In order to fix this I had to move the files back to BoxcryptedDropbox and request that they not be encrypted. Boxcryptor asked me 154 times (one for each file) if I really wanted to copy them without encryption. Please add a checkbox so that I do not have to keep hitting yes!!!
Also, the alert windows are showing up at the bottom of the windows stack, not the top. So if you have an error you aren’t aware of it because it is hidden by the explorer window. A perfect example is when you want to create a new folder. You click on create new folder and wait… and wait…. and wait completely unaware that there is a hidden query under the explorer windows.
When you try and create a new folder in an encrypted folder and then try and change the name, there is an error. You try again and again and always an error. You have to leave the folder and return to discover that even though there was an initial error, the folder changed names but didn’t update until you left and then returned.
