I am experiencing some strange behaviour moving files/folders around in a local encrypted Boxcryptor folder.
What I've done:
1) Opened my BoxCryptor Classic disk (BC Classic) and copied all the content to local encrypted BoxCryptor folder (...Documents/BC/box).
- All content was copied and encrypted. Green tag appears next to all files/folders.
- No problems.
2) Tried moving a file from a Desktop to one of the folders in BC (Boxcryptor->BC->box->ProjectA)
2.1 A following prompt appears:
'Modifying “ProjectA” requires an administrator name and password.'
If I press Authenticate, following prompt appears:
'Finder wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this.'
After I type in my password I get the following error:
'The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items.'
2.2 Trying moving a file into any other folder tree leads to the same behaviour.
2.3 When I create a new folder (Boxcryptor->BC->box->NewProject) and copy file from Desktop there it copies without a problem.
3) I have tried to move all the content of the folders into a newly created folders (Boxcryptor->BC->box->ProjectA to Boxcryptor->BC->box->ProjectA_new)
- Using drag and drop, all files and folders inside 'ProjectA' have copied to 'ProjectA_new' (instead of being moved).
- Moving file from Desktop to ProjectA_new works.
4) Removing ProjectA folder results into following prompt:
'Finder wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this.'
- Typing in user passwords does nothing. A sound of a folder getting to Trash is played but nothing happens.
So far, it seems like there is so weird behaviour regarding permissions that is going on. It feels like simply copying files from BoxCryptor Classic drive to a BoxCryptor folder does not quite work or perhaps requires some prior actions (regarding permissions or maybe app settings).
Please point me to some direction. I am almost done switching from Classic to v2. There seems to be just a few weird things that are going on.
p.s. Will try to move all files from BoxCryptor Classic drive to a regular Finder folder and after that, move all those files to encrypted BoxCryptor folder. Perhaps this will get rid of the weird permission prompts... Will post findings in a bit.
edit: Unfortunately the same behaviour exist after first copying all the files to regular folder and then to BoxCryptor. Looking forward for the feedback on this.
