Hello all,
I’m a new user of Boxcryptor on OSX (El Capitan, version 10.11.2).
I installed and configured Boxcryptor last night to secure one of my Dropbox folders.
The original filecount was 2742 (10 857 405 459 bytes).
I made a backup of those.
I opened the Boxcryptor drive sitting on top of my Dropbox files.
I right-clicked on the folder I wanted to secure and chose “Encrypt with Boxcryptor”.
I let the process ran overnight and it was completed when I checked this morning.
I had a success message window from Boxcryptor and my original folder was renamed as stated (“_encrypted” was added to the original folder’s name).
My Dropbox account was also synced.
The new filecount from Boxcrypter drive is 1935 (3 548 460 221 bytes).
The new filecount from OSX Finder is 2013 (3 556 438 922 bytes).
This difference accounts for the extra files created by Boxcryptor.
Nevertheless, there is 807 files missing from the original filecount…
As anyone else ran through the same problem on OSX (ie. lots of missing files) ?
Is Boxcryptor batch encryption of a folder reliable on OSX while Dropbox is active ?
Thank you in advance
Benoit
