Hi
I wasn't quite able to find a question, which precisely describes the issue(s) I'm experiencing, so I'll make this new one, and attempt to describe my challenges with BoxCryptor in as much detail as possible.
I am currently trialing BoxCryptor with Dropbox - using local account.
I am the kind of guy, that opens a gazzillion things, many word/visio/excel documents/sheets in particular. At the end of the day, I'll put the PC to sleep, and only rarely actually reboot it or shut it down completely.
At the same time I'll do intensive tasks, virtualization and administrative tasks, including access to many network drives. All of this usually makes a reboot neccessary within a month or so.
So - the problem at hand:
Quite often a encrypted document open from the BoxCryptor location will fail to save after coming back from sleep. In 75%+ of the cases, Excel/Word/etc will crash and bail out, which means there is no second chance, to save to another location.
Quite often even documents open in the same session (without sleep inbetween) will require several attempts to save - with errors (something like unable to save this document), and then suddenly it succeeds.
BoxCryptor has been crashing quite a few times - the past few days several times a day. Today eventually I was unable to start BoxCryptor again - I did unfortunately not check if there was a orphaned process lingering about, I simply restarted my PC - which btw. hung forever trying to shut down, so I needed to forcefully kill it.
Additionally - which may or may not be by design, after employing BC, I see a massive amount of events in my dropbox - that file X is continually deleted and created again - which seems to be quite normal e.g. each time I save a file - as opposed to just updating the file.
Details:
Windows 8.1 Enterprise
BoxCryptor 2.2.419.277
DropBox 3.14.7
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4910MQ CPU @ 2.90GHz
MEM: 32GB
Any ideas? I'm not exactly keen on going all-in on this, when it behaves this way, its quite frustrating editing a document, and not being able to save it.
Thanks in advance.
