I have developed an issue where certain PDF files I have encrypted in Boxcryptor can only be opened with Acrobat 11 on my Mac and can no longer be opened by Acrobat 11 on any of my Windows boxes (mostly Windows 10, one Windows 7). Since it's literally the same file being synced via Google Drive (date/time stamp has not changed -- some of these files are a year old), I have to wonder if it's an issue with the CBFS driver.
If I take a sample file that works on the Mac but fails on Windows and copy it from the Mac to a new encrypted folder in Boxcryptor and it syncs across Google Drive, I then can open it on a Windows machine.
And if I run Microsoft's fciv utility against a file (on the Boxcrptor drive) that's working on Mac and failing on the Windows side, I get the following output: "HashAndStore: Error msg: A device attached to the system is not functioning. Error code: 1f." I cannot copy (or delete) these files out of Boxcryptor on Windows, but I can on the Mac. And if I copy that Windows-corrupt file out of Boxcryptor on the Mac, I then can copy it to a Windows box and open it without issue, inside or outside of Boxcryptor. So it's definitely the Boxcryptor drive where the problem is.
This only started happening with the last two Boxcryptor Windows versions, v.2.5.484 and v.2.4.482. The Mac version is 2.7.778, and like I said, all these failing files on the Windows version open without issue on the Mac version of Boxcryptor. All of this is on Google Drive v.1.32.4066.7445 (both Win & Mac).
