What happens behind the scenes when removing a user from a Group?

Example 2 on https://www.boxcryptor.com/en/technical-overview/ explains what happens with the keys when a file is shared with a group.

Similarly, what happens to the keys and file content when a user stops sharing a file with a group? (or when a member is removed from the group). Are the keys changed? Is the file re-encrypted?

Hi stefanix,

Unlike directly sharing files with other people, sharing with groups does not require any re-encryption of files when the group memberships are altered. The changes to the key files are solely done on our servers and then synced back to every client within that group.
