After attempting to login upon reading your reply I received a proper error message saying that the username and password were unknown to Boxcryptor, even though I can login to the the web app just fine using the same credentials.
So I did as you recommended and removed all my devices from the Boxcryptor web app. I have used my Mac before with older versions of Boxcryptor and never had any issues.
Now all I get when attempting to log into the Boxcryptor desktop app is either a blank background in the Boxcryptor window with a grey text saying "Could not connect to the server" or an error saying "error Missing required parameter: bc_hwid". I don't think it's a physical connection issue from my end as my internet connection is working.
I'm not sure what to do now.
Is there any other way I can make my login work again?
