• Can I download from the internet directly to Boxcryptor in onedrive folder?

I believe this is possible, however I'm hoping to get verification.

I would like to be able to download information from one or more on-line applications (e.g. WordPress, Freshdesk) that may contain PII (personally identifiable information) directly into an encrypted folder, and have that then folder be sync'd to the cloud (e.g. onedrive).

The goal is to never have the PII at rest on my local device in an unencrypted state.

I understand that a Boxcryptor folder can sit in a local onedrive folder, and thus be synced to the cloud.

The piece I would like to confirm is that I can download directly to the Boxcrytor folder from the internet, e.g as a Chrome browser download "save as / save to" location.

May be obvious, however, just want to confirm. If there's a documentation link that says this, that would be great.

Thanks!

    Hi encryptonite,

    this is possible.

You would just need to configure your web browser to download into an encrypted folder in OneDrive via the Boxcryptor drive. (e.g. X:\OneDrive\EncryptedDownloads)

Please also make sure that Boxcryptor is running when downloading.

This way all files downloaded will be instantly encrypted and synced to your OneDrive.
A documentation is not available for these steps since they do not concern Boxcryptor that much.
    Thanks for your understanding.

    Kind regards,
    Richard
