• Impossible to open and decrypt my files

Hi,

I recently downloaded boxcryptor for Mac OsX (on the free plan, to give it a try). I installed it 2h ago and encrypted the folders of my Dropbox. When I restarted my computer, the boxcryptor drive wasn't open anymore. When I opened the boxcryptor application, it wouldn't do anything, apart from opening an empty green box. The issue is that from the dropbox folder itself I cannot open anything anymore. When I click on the files, they're encrypted and their name finish with ".bc" and nothing happen, they don't open. When I change the end of the file name back to its previous (say ".pdf"), it doesn't work either.

I restarted and when opening Bocryptor I clicked create a local account. This time I have access to the boxcryptor drive again, but it won't let me decrypt anything, saying I don't have permission. I can't open them either.

I tried to merge the local account with an online account but the key is not recognized by the website (maybe because the file is encrypted too?). In any case, I tried everything I could to get my files back to normal (non encrypted), for the sake of being able to open them.

It is extremely stressful as there's 2 years of work there, plus all my legal documents. I'm sure this is just me missing something very simple so please help me figure it out! Thanks!

    Hi marbre,

    Thanks for your efforts.
