Boxcryptor not opening, even after reinstall

Hi guys,

I´ve been using Boxcryptor v2.7.778 on Mac OSX 10.9.5 for several months now, without problems. From one day to another though, the app just stopped opening, no bouncy icon, no process in the background, nothing. Restarting the Mac, deleting plists, creating a new user, fixing permissions, reinstalling the app, all did nothing. Am I missing something here? Should a reinstall not at least do something?

Hi Yasmin,

thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I always get a "killed 9" error, when I type in "/Applications/Boxcryptor.app/Contents/MacOS/Boxcryptor --debug" in Terminal. The debug log is therefore not created. Any other options?

ok, thanks for the information.

Then, please de-install Boxcryptor and re-install the latest version (2.11.828) for 10.9 available here:
https://www.boxcryptor.com/de/help/about/macos/#changelog

Hi,

I'd like to add some background info here: We have dropped support for Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks some months ago and version 2.11.828 which can be used on Mavericks. As Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks is not supported by Apple itself anymore, I'd urgently recommend to upgrade to a newer version of macOS.
