Hello,

I have installed High Sierra and now Boxcryptor doesn't mount the disk with an error : "the version of BCFS is too old".
I can't find a download even beta test for this version.
Help about this?

This is embarrassing. Do you guys (Boxcryptor) test agains new macOS versions? A little announcement that the product doesn't work after the upgrade would be really nice.

Please update your Boxcryptor versions. We have released Version 2.13.845 on the 20th of June with experimental High Sierra support. Yesterday we have released Version 2.15.875 with official High Sierra support.

Ok could you please tell me the exact error message? Did you already try to restart your Mac and/or re-install Boxcryptor?

Could you please enter "kextstat | grep com.boxcryptor" into a Terminal window and tell me the result.

I installed Boxcryptor_v2.15.875_Installer.dmg. After starting Boxcryptor the Laptop crashed und it restarted.

Hi everybody,

it seems you all have different issues. Let me try to address them one-by-one:

1) "The version of BCFS is too old" (pjpsoft)
Your version of Boxcryptor for macOS is too old and does not yet support macOS 10.13 High Sierra. As mentioned by Boris, please update to the latest version of Boxcryptor for macOS and everything should be fine.

2) "Mounting the Boxcryptor disk failed" (sapran)
This is a generic error which is not specific to macOS 10.13 High Sierra and it could also occur on <10.13 systems. The most common reason for this error is that your installation of macOS does not have a free device slot. BCFS requires a free device slot but macOS only has a limited number of device slots. If there is no free device slots available, BCFS cannot be started and mounting the Boxcryptor disk fails. Other applications occupying device slots are usually virtualization software (e.g. Virtualbox, VMware, Parallels) or VPN software. If you send a debug log to support@boxcryptor.com we can take a deeper look (or alternatively, you can manually execute kextstat in the Terminal and see which other kernel extensions are loaded).

3) macOS Crash (Don Carlos)
The crash could be caused by Boxcryptor - but also by a bunch of other applications on your Mac. Besides the loaded BCFS, I also see a kernel extension from Acronis Fileprotector, Paragon NTFS and Parallels and the crashing application seems rather to be "CleanMyDrive". Is this crash reproducible and does it occur each time you try to start Boxcryptor?
