Boxcryptor lately showing 'latest version' when checking even if old

I have a Mac that was running 2.12 and even today, doing an update check showed it was the latest version, when 2.15 was the real latest version.

Also, About a week ago or more, one of my PCs showed there was a new version (everything was on 2.17), but now if I manually check for updates, all show there are none, though 2.18 is out.

Are there issues with the latest versions? Or you are now holding off recommending the latest until they've been out longer? What's going on?

In general, we are always rolling out new versions via auto-update in stages. This means that a new version is not automatically shown to all users but first only a few percent receive the new version and this percentage increases over time. If a new version is available on our website but you don't receive it via auto-update, you are not yet included in the percentage which receives the new version. You can simply wait until you are - or manually upgrade Boxcryptor by downloading the latest version from our website.

In case a new version would contain an unexpected issue, staged rollouts give us (and many other software developers) the chance to react quickly while only a small subset of users would be affected.
