Hello Yasmin,
Thanks for your reply.
I use Boxcryptor for two purposes / use cases:
1) encrypt my data in the cloud (Synology NAS)
2) encrypt my data on my laptop
But the way Boxcryptor now functions, the second Use Case is made difficult.
In previous versions of Boxcryptor, I would log out of Boxcryptor to protect my laptop data while I was travelling. I would log in again later, my custom locations would automatically be restored and I could get right back to work.
In the latest versions however, something was changed and I have to set all my custom locations every time I have logged out. This is very annoying. Boxcryptor does automatically add my Dropbox and even automatically adds an external harddisk when I connect it, so why can't it 'remember' my custom locations? (I use a Synology NAS as 'cloud')
If I follow your suggestion and just quit the application (without logging out first), Boxcryptor doesn't protect the data on my laptop. I tried and when you restart Boxcryptor (without logging out), it doesn't ask for a login/pw and just starts up, allowing access to my data. So, if I want to keep my data safe while travelling, this is not an option.
To summarize, the current version of Boxcryptor allows me 2 options for travelling:
- Log out and keep my data safe, but set my custom locations every time (very annoying)
- Quit application and leave my data unprotected, but automatically keep my custom locations
Can Boxcryptor be changed back to 'remember' the custom locations, when I log in?
Thanks,
Galua
