Saving an MS Office file as PDF to a Boxcryptor drive is unacceptably slow. It takes minutes. To reproduce: open a MS Word 2016 file and save as PDF to a Boxcryptor folder.
As a workaround one can print the doc via the "Microsoft Print to PDF" virtual printer to the Boxcryptor drive.
