is there a way to disable 2FA without Secret Key?

Hi all, I activated 2FA with Google Authenticator and encrypted the content of my Dropbox. Now I had to replace my macbook and iPhone because I left my former company. When installing and log into Boxcryptor on the new devices I noticed, that the Google Authenticator sites were not included in the iPhone Backup. Stupid as I am I did not save the backup security key. Which means I cannot log into my Boxcryptor account which means I cannot access all of my data :(

I know that this I entirely my fault because I did not save the secret key. But other services like eg Google offer more different ways to authenticate in case you lost the key like SMS vor example.

Is there any other way to deactivate 2FA so that I'll be able to login again?

Hello Dirk,

there is no other way for the moment to regain access to your account if you don't have your QR-code or the security code.

But, we can disable 2FA from our side.

To do this, please contact us at support@boxcryptor.com referring to the post here.
There are some steps needed (prove that you are, etc.).
More detailed instructions when you have contacted us via the ticket system.

Hi all,

Since a few days, the code provided by Google Authenticator is rejected during Boxcryptor sign in. I tried several tests uninstalling/installing the authenticator and testing with google account but without success.
Unfortunately, I did not save the backup security key. Which means I cannot log into my Boxcryptor account which means I cannot access all of my data.

I have a smiliar Issue - the token provided by my Google Authenticator didn't work and also if I use the Secret Key to add Boxcryptor to another Authenticator App - the provided codes didn't work. I wrote some Mails to the support, but no reply until now :-(
