Hi, can anyone point me in the right direction please? It's a long story but I have a recovered set of (encrypted) files from a boxcryptor classic folder that was deleted by mistake from a hard drive a while ago (too long ago to recover the files from within dropbox). I have the files themselves and the keyfile.bcx file.
How do I go about "recreating" the boxcryptor folder so that I can decrypt the files? I have tried creating a new boxcryptor folder with the same password and pasting the files into it (inc the keyfile) and then mounting the drive, but that isn't working. Well i guess it isn't working as the microsoft access mdb file I am trying to open reports unknown database format error, which is what I get if I try and open the encrypted file. The drive mounts OK, but the files inside still seem to be encrypted. I have tried pasting the encrypted files into the boxcryptor classic folder whilst it is mounted, when it is unmounted and I have tried pasting into the mounted drive (know this wouldn't work but tried it anyway). I have tried editing the filename to end .bc in the boxcryptor folder, but that didn't seem to help.
If anyone has the answer I'd be very grateful.
Many thanks in advance
