How to setup Boxcryptor to automaticaly encrypt files before upload to GoogleDrive?

I've made a test - added some file to my GoogleDrive folder on py PC. And it didnt got encrypted automaticaly. I have to manualy click on this file and click "Encrypt". How to set it up to do that automaticaly?

And one more question: could Boxcryptor working this way: encrypt only a copy that uploading to the GoogleDrive and still files on a local pc unencrypted?

Hello max3333,

when you save a file for the Cloud, you should save it to the Boxcryptor drive and not directly in the sync folder (in this case Google Drive).
So, all operations should go via the Boxcryptor drive, otherwise the file(s) will be unencrypted.

Second question: when encrypting (let's say, again Google Drive) you will always see the "unencrypted" version of the file on the Boxcryptor drive a s long as Boxcryptor is started and you're signed in.
In turn, the .bc (also encrypted file) will be in the sync folder, and so in the Cloud.

Thank you for the answer. Basicaly I need to work on my files (in my case this is files of virtual machine VMware). The files automaticaly been created by VM. Is there an option for all these files to be automaticaly encrypted? Or I have to encrypt them manualy all the time?

what exactly do you mean with "The files automaticaly been created by VM"?
Do you want to encrypt the files from your VM application or the files which are in the VM?

You are able to use rclone to encrypt and then sync the data to your cloud provider of choice - Google Drive. In order for rclone to access and upload (subsequent download if you are cloning to disk rather than cloning to drive) you have to create a Google API key. This key is used as a substitute to your password and will have limited access to your Google account. Above all else, in the case of leakage, you can revoke the key. It's not user friendly but extremely robust and very simple to use within scripts.
