I have been using Boxcryptor v2.32.910 on windows 10 without any problem. I received a notice that an update was available. So as I have done previously, I started the installation process. A message was generated saying that several identified programs had to be updated as part of the installation. Two options were given: 1-have the installation program shut down those programs or reboot the computer after the installation was completed. I chose to have the installation program perform a shutdown of the individual programs. Two of the three were shut down but windows explorer was not. I clicked on the same option but explorer could not be shut down by the installation program. So I chose the second option of reboot after installation.
The program continued loading and installing the update until it got to the point where an error message window popped up with the following message: "Failed to install call back file system: unknown error (error code: -536870330). At that point, I could not proceed with the update.
So after several unsuccessful attempts at performing the update, I decided to just use the current version of the program. However, I then found that the update attempt had corrupted the version I was using. So I removed the program and tried to reinstall the latest version and then the previous version I had been using. All attempts failed at the point of the CBFS installation with the same error message every time.
I am now unable to use boxcryptor at all and am at a loss of how to get this issue resolved. I need help with this problem and all my web searches have failed to identify a solution. It was suggested that the program needed to be installed using administrative privileges. I tried that but it didn't work either.
Any help would be appreciated as I use this program constantly.
