Scenario: Windows 10, Google Drive File Stream (G:) + Boxcryptor free (X:). I want to encrypt the Team drive 'Kancelar' I created recently. The Team drive is empty and I have full rights to it. When I right click on the 'G:\Team drives\Kancelar' and select from the menu Boxcryptor -> Encrypt, the operation fails with the message:
Error during encryption.
The encryption was aborted or failed but the new folder '\Google Drive File Stream (G)\Team drives\Kancelar_encryptet' could not be deleted. Please delete it manually.
Please delete the new folder manually. Your existing files have not been modified.
The problem is in the default Boxcryptor behavior. When I ask Boxcryptor to encrypt folder XXX it creates a new folder XXX_encrypted and copy the encrypted data there. But that is something Drive File Stream client does not allow on the team drives level - team drives appear as folders to Windows but they can't be created, renamed or deleted.
The solution could be to prevent Boxcryptor to rename the folder (or to be exact: to create a new one with "_encrypted" ). But there is no such option in Boxcryptor settings.
Did anyone succeed in such scenario?
